My Fees Explained

Understanding my fees starts with understanding how attorneys typically charge. Most attorneys require a retainer of $2,500 to $10,000 or more, plus hourly rates ranging from $250 to $600. They often bill in minute increments, which can add up quickly, charging for more time than they actually spent on your case due to the billing practice of the firm. Often times what we know as an hour, 60 minutes, becomes 90 to 120 minutes when billed due to that billing practice.

In contrast, I offer a different approach. My fee is based on a monthly grouping, not a retainer or hourly billing. Once you hire me, I become your dedicated divorce support “bestie.” You have 24/7 access via text for questions or concerns, and I respond as soon as I can.

We’ll meet once a week to keep things moving, but I’m happy to meet more often at no extra cost, whether to support you through tough times, prepare for mediation, or get ready for court. My goal is to help you stay out of the courtroom, where costs can spiral.

I also assist in explaining the process and helping you follow your attorney’s instructions. This teamwork ensures your attorney can work efficiently, which keeps your overall costs lower while maximizing their effectiveness.
